Carrer Research Essay<3

I want my life and everything that would happen to me in a close future to be fortunate, and successful. I want to have a good job, a loving and caring family. My ideal job would be that interests me, gives me a good salary and from which I could move on to something new. But to have all these qualities included in my career I have to start to work on it now, so I could achieve my goal in few years. In my opinion that the best time to start to think about it is now, then after when I do not have that much time to think. For right now I am interested in one career- flight attendant. In these next few paragraphs, I would like to tell you something about me and my future career that I chose because of my personality consideration, this job interests me and I would love to experience something different and new and the best career that fits all these consideration is a flight attendant.I'm an extremely shy person, especially when it comes to teachers and adults. I know that all the flight attendants must be talkative and not scared to talk to people. As I took a test, the results said that people that have similar personality like me "...have a wide range and variety of emotions and a great passion for novelty, and can become bored quickly with both situations and people, and resist repeating experience."(Keirsey 6) Throughout my life I found myself being an emotional person. I find myself hiding a lot of feeling inside of me which I do not usually share with my friends or anyone else and in my opinion it is a good quality for flight attendants, because "Flight attendants must remain pleasant and efficient, regardless of how tired they are or how demanding passengers may be. Occasionally, flight attendants must deal with disruptive passengers" (Flight Attendant 1).This job has advantages and disadvantages. Job as a flight attendant is hard and not safe in a way. In my opinion this job has a few of bad qualities for example: "Flight attendants stand during much of the flight and must remain pleasant and efficient, regardless of how tired they are or how demanding passengers may be. Occasionally, flight attendants must deal with disruptive passengers. Also, turbulent flights can add to possible difficulties regarding service, including potential injuries to passengers" (Flight Attendant 2). Job as a flight is sometimes inexact; your schedule can change at anytime. You might have to get to your job during your weekend or any other events. It actually depends on which situation you are in. "Some flight attendants become supervisors or take on additional duties such as recruiting and instructing. Their experience also may qualify them for numerous airline-related jobs involving contact with the public, such as reservation ticket agent or public-relations specialist" (Flight Attendant 3). I think that I could stay at the same job for a quite long time and after I could get higher and more specialized in the flight hospitality area.On the other hand there are some good things about being a flight attendant. You can build new relationships, make friends, if you are a person that enjoys talking to people or just a really social person this job would be fun and enjoyable for you. Flights attendants are usually are the people that travel a lot around the world and when they do that they would not have to pay for the hotel and food. "Some airlines may provide transportation to the training centers and an allowance for room, board, and school supplies, while other airlines charge individuals for training" (Flight Attendant 4).A research that was taken in 1997says that "More and more people are flying regularly today for business and pleasure, and some estimates say that the number of people flying will increase more than 60 percent over the next decade. To meet the needs of the traveling public, airline companies are using larger planes in adding more flights. Because federal regulations require at least one attendant on duty for every fifty passengers aboard a plane, this means there will be many more openings for flight attendants" (Brymer, Bill 36). That means that it would be easy to get this job in a short period of time, but at the same time all individual that want this job should go through the training that might last three to eight weeks. The research that was taken few years ago, in 2004 says "Flight attendants held about 102,000 jobs in 2004. Commercial airlines employed the vast majority of flight attendants, most of who lived in their employer's home- base city. A small number of flight attendants worked for large companies that operated aircraft for business purposes" (Flight Attendant 5).Most of the flight attendants salary is about 31.310$ to 67.3590$. I do not think that it is fair for this job just to get this much money, because this job is not insecure and scary for some reasons. Even though they do not get paid as much as they should, the airlines provide their workers hospitality and meal expenses, also the family members get to travel free if they use the airlines where the flight attendant works. (Brymer, Bill 36) While researching this job I found out some things that I never knew about, and now when I know more than half of the things flight attendant should know before they get hired I am still not sure if this is what I want my future to be like. I don't like spending holidays and weekends away from my family, but that is what exactly flight attendant's should do. While researching this topic I learned most of the disadvantages of this job and it confused me, but I am still looking forward my future, and you never know what life could do to you.
